The company I am reporting on is Hewlett- Packard, also known as "HP". HP is a well-known technology company that develops personal computers and hardware, printers and other related supplies. They also offer business solution services that include 3d printing, Computer and device security, VR technology and many other services to help business focus on their priorities. HP's mission statement is to "engineer experiences that amaze." (hp.com, 2023) The mission statement typically includes the basic function of the company and contains two major elements. Firstly, mission statements have a declaration of mission and Second, articulation of key goals (N. Ritson, 2019). HP also has a vision statement which is similar to the mission statement but is generally a broader and future outcome driven. HP stated their vision statement as to "create technology that makes life easier for everyone, everywhere." (hp.com, 2023) Lastly, Goals are specific and measurable preferred outcomes that people within the organization use as milestones and to signal the start and end of phases of a plan. Goals are typically signify a general aim or purpose (N. Ritson, 2019). Some goals of HP according to their website include delivering predictable cash flow to shareholders and reinvesting profits back into the business (hp.com, 2023). These three statements all play a role in defining the company, setting itself apart from competition and conveying to their audience what values they stand for.
