Step 3: Compare the two examples read for Step 2 and select the model that will best fit your essay. (Remember, this is all preliminary. It can, and probably should, be revised before your final draft, so it's understood to be a "work in progress," and subject to change.)

Step 4. Use the student model chosen in Step 3 as a model and compose your own refutation paragraphBegin by reminding the reader of your thesis before moving onto your rebuttal or refutation.
