Purpose: To demonstrate the ability to define and propose a database design. Problem: The Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) at CSUF manages all of the clubs and its activities for the university. CSUF has 250 clubs and organizations on campus that serve a variety of interests. These clubs are an important part of the CSUF community. Students that become members of the various clubs and organizations offered on campus will find that they develop a greater sense of community and enhance their learning experience. Students are allowed to join more than one club during their time at CSUF. Because the clubs host various events, fundraising activities take place throughout the year. These fundraising events help clubs fund field trips to its members or host a special event on campus. The SORC is responsible for providing the VP of Student Affairs a listing of club activities on a monthly basis. In addition, each club president wants to be informed about any membership updates in order to reach out and promote upcoming events.
