Q$-$Sort Exercise

Dur company has six projects. We don't have the rescurces to

complete al of the projects at one time. We are going to use the

Q$-$sort method to prioritize cur projects $20$ we can accemplish

the work dvef a pericd of time.Our compeny was recently notified

that we failed an EPA inspoction on our ar filtratian gystem. We

discowered that the system is irreperable so we must replace it$.$

If we do not meet the deadine the EPA set, our compeny could

face miger fines or warse it could be shut down indefinitely in

edcition, we were recently notified of a change in city ordinance

requiring al busiresses within the city limits to have siderwalks.

Wo were told that if we do nat have sidewales in place with $8$

weeks we wil be fined.

Cur CED ust came back from a techrology cerference in Las

Veges. He wes so excited to come beck and tell us that he has

placed a priority on solar parel instalation. While the solar panels

are nat a necess ty the bass wants them and as he put it$,$ "the

socher the batter!

We have always wanted a lunch area for all workers so they can

go cutside and erjoy their lunch break under the beautiful blue

skics. When pur workers that smclo found cut that we may

install an cutside lunch are they requested a smoling area as

wel. We have employess that have been campleining about the

roughness of the surface in the employee perking area. We

becided to inspect the parking lat ard found several pathales. In$.$

this scenario we hawe discowered seneral projects. We know that

we have limited rescurces so we need to prioritize the projects

besed an eategaries. We can do this using a q$-$sort methodalogy

I Sort the six project cands into two project piles $-$ High Priority and Low Prionity

Divide the Hgh Prienty Projects into High Prionty and Medium Priority Projects

$3$ Dide the Low Priarity Projects into Medum Prianity and Low Pricrity Projects

Notr: You should have three piles now Law, Modum and High Prianty Projects

Divide the High Priority pie into Highest Priority and High Priority projects.
