The company's hangar has several bays for washing small aircraft. Jill is responsible for overseeing the operation and operators of the equipment at the facility, including the cleaning bays. The cleaning bays are fitted with a recycling system that separates the water from the chemicals and residual material. The separation process is necessary as environmental legislation prevents the direct discharge of untreated waste water that may contain harmful chemicals. Terry, one of Jill's operators, tells her that the recycling system has failed. Following an investigation, Jill advises Doug, her manager, that a new part is required and will not arrive for 4 weeks. Unfortunately, cleaning is a necessary maintenance procedure and the timing corresponds to the start of an important contract with a new large customer. Doug tells Jill that if the cleaning cannot be completed, the company will lose the contract, and asks if the recycling system can be bypassed.
