QB7 (a) Compare the inhibitions and the impact on Monod's Kinetics? (8 marks) (b) Four batch biochemical reactors were arranged in the laboratory for testing Monod Constants. The substrates were then placed in the reactors in the order of 5, 2, 1 and 0.4 in reactor 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively. The rates of reaction were found to be of the order 0.09, 0.05, 0.08, and 0.02 for reactor 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively. When an inhibitor was added, parahydroxy-benzoic acid (PHBA), the rates of reaction were 0.04, 0.02, 0.015 and 0.01 for the 1, 2, 3 and 4" respectively. Determine the values of Vmax and Km for the analysis when there was no inhibition and when there was PHBA applied to the reactors.
