1.3 The prospects of artificial intelligence (AI) are very promising. AI has the potential to revolutionise many industries, from healthcare and finance to transportation, manufacturing, and retail. AI can automate many mundane tasks and help businesses become more efficient and productive. AI can help companies better understand customer behaviours and develop more effective marketing strategies. AI can also help diagnose and treat diseases, predict and prevent natural disasters, and create more personalised products and services. However, the fact that AI lacks certain components of human intelligence cannot be ignored. Of particular note is AIs lack of emotions and empathy. Futurists have argued that AI-enabled devices have the potential to be more knowledgeable about a persons emotional state, something that has raised ethical questions. The organisation you work for is pondering using emotionally capable AI to evaluate their employees' performance.
