question 1-Evaluate how Tesla create network resources?
Supplier innovation at Tesla, Inc
The automotive industry is undergoing its most significant revolution in a
hundred years. The combination of electrification, autonomous vehicles
technologies and changing mobility trends, such as ridesharing. are altering the
competitive landscape, and new players are challenging established companies.
Arguably, the most recognizable of these new players is Tesla.
Tesla was established in 2003 by a group of engineers who aspired to prove
that electric vehicles could be fast and pleasurable to drive. In 2008 they
introduced an all-electric sedan called Model S, capable of accelerating from
0-60 mph in 2.28 seconds. In 2015 they unveiled an SUV - Model X - and in
2017 they started delivering a low-price, high-volume vehicle called Model 3.
Three years later, they launched Model Y, a compact crossover utility vehicle
based on the same platform as the Model 3. These new models have
dramatically boosted sales. In 2020 alone the company sold almost 500,000
vehicles and has now produced over 1 million units.
Central to Tesla's success has been its iconic CEO, Elon Musk. Musk is well
known for setting very ambitious targets and sometimes criticized for not
delivering, at least, not on time. However, his ambition and determination have
played a role in inspiring employees and suppliers alike. One of their suppliers
noted: "Tesla is extremely aggressive, but takes a position that they are the
innovator and will drive technology to the supply base" (Toolan,2016).
