Question 1: What quantities are to be measured in order to determine

AIM: The aim of the experiment is to measure the specific heat capacity of a metal. WHAT DO YOU NEED? 1. A short string/rope 2. Any small metal object. 3. A kitchen scale 4. 2 styrofoam/plastic cups 5. 6 tablespoons of cold water (mass will be approximately 100g) 6. Kettle for boiling water. 7. A thermometer METHOD Tie a thin/short string to any metal object. The size of the metal object should be such that it can fit into a polystyrene cup and be totally submerged in some water in the cup. The best results are obtained if the mass of the metal is comparable to the mass of the water. The metal object is heated by lowering it in hot water poured in the styrofoam for several minutes. Then it is taken out, water is shaken off (but it is not touched) and quickly lowered into the second styrofoam with cold water
