Assignment 2 (Due 2/14): You and three of your classmates (Rachel, Jane, and Mark) are working on a class project that involves developing a strategic plan for a small (but growing) neighborhood business. The business focuses upon providing training classes for people in the hospitality industry (hotels and restaurants). In order to secure potential funding and other opportunities, the business needs to show that is has a strategic vision and plan that looks ahead at potential growth over the next five years. As part of your project, you need to do the following: Identify and interview key project stakeholders; Better understand the business' operations, as well as vision, goals, and objectives: Conduct research on strategic planning for similar types of businesses; Develop a report which includes your findings; Develop the strategic plan itself; and, Present your findings to the business owners and leadership. For the purposes of this project, the work can begin after May 5, 2021 and needs to be completed (including presentation) by July 26, 2021. 1. Develop a very basic WBS which shows the work that you feel is involved in this project as well as the logical order of activities. Obviously this part is pretty important since any problems with your WBS will lead to inevitable problems with your schedule. 2. Develop a schedule that is based upon the WBS. The schedule can be in whatever format that you'd like (although I might recommend a simple Excel spreadsheet). The schedule should reflect, at a minimum, the following: a. Activity name (one activity per row) b. Start date c. End date d. Optional - show dependencies
