The first step in the strategic planning process is to clarify the organisations strategic intent, vision and mission. While actions without a vision might be directionless, vision without action is of very little practical value. To help it in this task, it is useful for an organisation to develop a mission statement. The four components of a mission statement are core purpose, core strategies, core values and core behaviour standards. Critically evaluate the mission statement of your organisation with regard to the four components.
