Question
Assume that the first option using watercooled chillers and cooling towers in Question is chosen. Develop a draft schematic line diagram including the chilled water and condenser water circuits. The chilled water circuit shall adopt a variable flow differential pressure bypass system with reverse return chilled water piping system. The condenser water circuit shall also adopt a variable flow system too.
For the chilled water system, determine:
i The chilled water flow rate in mathrmLmathrms at design load.
For the condenser water system, determine:
ii The amount of heat rejection in kW at design load.
iii The condenser water flow rate in mathrmLmathrms
iv The water cooling tower coefficient make your own assumption of the cooling air flowrate
You may consider your own number of chillers, pumps and cooling towers based on the selected TR chiller and TR cooling load.
Assume the system configuration as follows:
quad The building is measured from mathrmGmathrmFmathrmF to mathrmFfloor height mathrm~m There is a basement B F with a height of mathrm~mquad R F is an open roof.
Chillers, chilled water pumps, condenser water pumps are installed at the basement of the building inside the central chiller plant room.
Cooling towers are installed on the roof of the building.
quad Each floor mathrmGmathrmFmathrmF to mathrmF is equipped with AHUs and PAU for the purpose of presenting them in the schematic line diagram
Attach with your answer the charts andor diagrams that you have used in the calculation. State any engineering assumptions taken.
Grades will be given for each answered question for this assignment. The conversion of grades to marks is based on the following mapping table. Subgrades like A A will be given at an addition subtraction of marks respectively. The overall mark is calculated based on the weighing of each question.
