You are the project manager for a project called Repositioning the project department in line with the organisational strategy. Some of your colleagues hear about the project and rumours start spreading through the project department and the rest of the organisation.

Examples of the rumours:

The new project is to restructure the project department. Some people will be retrenched or fired at the closure of the project.

The next project will relook at the rest of the organisation and restructuring will happen where high-paid employees will be retrenched.

5.1. Identify at least three risks associated with the project and give a risk rating for each using a 4 x 4 matrix. Incorporate the risk matrix (Figure 1) in your answer. (12)

Risk example: The project departments efficiency will decrease as employees take leave to look for other jobs.
