They have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren that live nearby and are very supportive, although they struggle with their mother's increasing confusion. Evie and William migrated to Australia from Germany shortly after marrying, to escape the turmoil post war. She has severe pain associated with having numerous falls and has been diagnosed with pneumonia. The family have been notified that she is receiving end-of-life care.
