Question A1 (Developing Information Systems) (TOTAL: 15 POINTS) Read the following problem-solving mini-case for the Ron Mingo Typewriter Museum and answer the questions at the end. The Ron Mingo Typewriter Museum sells typewriters, typewriter consumables, and typewriter memorabilia for its interested patrons. During the COVID pandemic, the museum has shut its doors to the public as many of their attractions (such as the 1987 Click-and-Clack Virtual Office Experience) were hands-on experiences patrons touched and used real typewriters! Clearly the museum was at risk of becoming a COVID superspreader. Accordingly, the museum has been temporarily closed. However, the museum is running virtual workshops to assist typewriter fans to use typewriters during lockdown. Ron wants to build a simple system to help with this process and has asked you to help him with this. Ron explains that he wants a system built that he calls the TypeFast Now System. Ron describes this system as one that allows a customer to use the system to watch an introductory video to Maintaining Your Typewriter. At the end of watching the video, the system provides all customers with a Completion Code. The customer may also use the system to book a place in the Restore Your Typewriter Workshop that is run each week via video conference. If the customer provides a valid Completion Code, a discounted price is applied for the workshop. Each week, the workshop presenter then downloads the list of workshop attendees from the system. Finally, customers may also use the TypeFast Now System to buy a restored typewriter; if desired, Ron Mingo will sign the typewriter for a modest fee. Answer all of the following questions:
(a) In your answer booklet*, use the above description of the system provided by Ron Mingo to develop a functional description using a Use Case Diagram that uses the correct symbols (5 points) and reflects the system as described by Ron Mingo (5 points). * You may draw your Use Case Diagram by hand and insert a photograph into the booklet. (10 points)
(b) Explain to Ron Mingo in laymans terms (i.e. non-technical language) what a Use Case diagram is (2 points) and how it can help with the development of an information system (3 points). (5 points)
