Question about ruby programming: Im doing a user input loop ask for 5 numbers and then display the average of those numbers.

This is my code:

$i = 0 #counter $num = 5 #5 user input numbers $numbers = 0 #store the numbers $avg = 0 #take the average $totalsum = 0 #total sum of numbers

while $i < $num do puts ("Enter a number: ") numbers = gets.to_f $i +=1 $totalsum +=numbers

avg = totalsum/5 print avg

end

I can't get it to work , i don't understand the syntax that much since its my first time trying out ruby but how could i fix it?
