Question Five

Discuss the connection between a persons level of emotional intelligence and his/her effectiveness as a member of a team. In other words, explain how ones level of emotional intelligence affects his/her tendencies when working with others in a team (such as a project group, task force, or committee), and explain how these tendencies are likely to affect the groups interactions and performance.

Select one of the following two ways to approach your answer: (1) If a person has a high level of emotional intelligence, in what ways will this enhance the persons contributions to the positive dynamics of the team? OR (2) If a person has a low level of emotional intelligence, in what ways will this lead to behaviors that will harm the dynamics of the team? In your answer, use specific aspects of emotional intelligence covered in my recordings, readings, and TED talks to explain how emotional intelligence affects a persons effectiveness (good or bad) as a member of a team.
