In Chapter One Page 9, Read the Text Box entitled "Sports & Entertainment Law" You will read about player's and an owner's private conduct. You will see that the leagues took action, and in some cases, traditional "law" took action (prosecution). Additionally, during the 2016 Summer Olympics, there had been some controversy and scandal over what happened with swimmer Ryan Lochte and 3 other USA Swimmers at a gas station in Rio. Rio 2016 Spokesperson Mario Andrada said that we should give these "kids" a breok. So my question is: Are Leagues, companies with endorsement contracts, and spokespeople trying to usurp the legal sytem (or use their own system of law?). (Explain - using information obtained from Chapter 1. The United States legal system seems to work, Should these entities wait for the court system to make a legal decision, before suspending, fining, puling endorsement contracts and making decisions about players? Include in your discussion, what you think about players or owners "messing up" in their personal lives.
