Organisation 2: Fix-itElectronics; an engineering organisation supplying electrical equipment and parts, such as inverters and water purifiers, for household and industrial use. The equipment and components are sourced from all over the world. Their major problem is that sometimes the equipment is not able to work on the electric systems in the institutions they sell to. In other cases the components brought in as spares do not fit on the existing equipment with their customers.

They are presently incurring high costs in the replacement of returned components or sorting out mal-functioning equipment. They need a quality management system that will assist in identifying the correct products from the suppliers.

Organisation 3;Keep MovingLtdabicycle manufacturing company that is now started to produce battery poweredmotor bikes.The organisation started with improved bicycles, a special modification of the bicycle that could be cycled with less effort. On collecting feedback from the customer, they moved to the battery-operated motorbike, whichthey thoughtcapturedmuch of the requirements of their customers.

Due to competition from international companiesimporting different types ofmotorbikesinto the country the organisationsisfinding challenges in getting the customers totrytheir products.

They are looking for a quality management system that will help themto betteridentifyspecificcustomerrequirements, be able to convert the identified requirements to product at a pace that can compete with the bigger multinational organisations, and thus tempt more customers to switch to their motorbikes.
