Read the Chapter 1 Case Study. Complete the Deliverables for the Case Study by using the template format shown in Figure 1.10. You will do this by setting up a table in a Word document. The Deliverables describe creating a one year manager or leader plan with improvement goals that incorporate the management issues listed on page 22 for the three function areas of release of information, outsourced transcription, and patient education for the us e and access to patient portals. There should be three goals for each issue. Then, list a management or leadership theory to utilize for the improvement goal. Since Jamie will be working on improving these deficiencies over a one year period, include projected dates of completion.

Summary:

• Set up a document with a table like the example in Figure 1.11
• At the top of the document add your name and identify two management or leadership theories that Jamie will utilize.
• Identify three improvement goals for the three operation workgroup areas
• Identify a management or leadership theory to utilize for the improvement goal that you think will best fit the goal. For example, Scientific Management to evaluate the steps in the workflow, or humanistic management theory to include employees in the decision making. There are a variety of theories and you may apply one for each goal, or you may utilize one theory for more than one goal. The support for the theory can just be a single, concise sentence.
