The production system, industrial and employment relations at the factory have been changing in the few decades three decades.

Between the decade 1970-1980, there were 400 workers (mostly women) working in the factory. Working hours were 8.30 am - 4.30 pm. An independent trade union was present in the company and 300 workers were members of the trade union. Management consulted the trade union officials regarding production rates, OHS issues, wages and working conditions. Collective bargaining process took place between the management and trade union officials. The government intervened and helped the workers when there was a dispute. The management also played a key role in making strategic decisions and bringing about peace and no disputes in the organisation.
