CLASSMATES RESPONSE-
The Native American community and the Hispanic/Latino community are the cultural populations I would like to look at. Native American community prevention will include culturally specific education, community-based initiatives and addressing trauma (Valley Forge, 2025). The treatment plans would be to incorporate traditional healing practices, culturally competent healthcare providers, and family-based treatment. Some positive changes are strengthening community ties, promoting healthy coping mechanisms, and emphasizing spirituality. In the Native American community, it is large with substance use, primarily alcohol, and the risks are being on the rez, family dynamics, and influences. The Hispanic/Latino community prevention is bilingual education programs, community outreach programs, and family-focused prevention (Valley Forge, 2025). The treatment programs will consist of bilingual and bicultural treatment programs, family-oriented treatment approaches, and address cultural stigma. Some of the positive changes are fostering family support, emphasizing cultural values, and promoting healthy coping mechanisms. The risk with his culture is language barriers, differences within culture and how substance use is viewed and family dynamics.
