"I wanted to study poor people because I know how hard it is to be poor. Living on Long Island is very hard for most. Even more, it is hard to live on Long Island regardless if you are single, married, have children, live alone or even if you live with people. That is why I wanted to do research on poor people. In my study I will be talking to people who are poor to find out the problems they have that have made them poor. I also want to know how they feel they can get out of poverty, and if it is possible while living on Long Island. My study is very important because on Long Island being poor is shame, and should not happen. I feel like if I am able to share information on why poor people are poor, maybe we can find a way to help them."
