Read the section titled "Managing Crisis Projects" that begins on page 540 (in Part 13) in the Kerzner text. Focus on the Tylenol Poisonings and the Air France Concorde Crash. Perform additional research on these incidents, and write a 34 page paper (800 to 1000 words) that answers the following questions:

1. Critique the pros and cons of the actions of Johnson & Johnsons management in countering the product-tampering. Comment on the project management skills of the CEO, James Burke.
2. Compare and contrast the actions taken by Air France/British Airways to the ones taken by Johnson & Johnson.
3. As a project manager or a manager, how do you lead/manage crises in your workplace?
4. Should be all product- or service-associated risks be made public? Why and why not? Be sure to support your rationale.
5. How do you interpret the medias relatively positive attitude toward Johnson and Johnsons James Burke? Was this due to the fact that he and the company showed empathy and responsiveness during a crisis? Do you think Johnson and Johnsons crisis project team planned it this way to get on the good side of the media? Explain your answer.
