I used to go to the countryside on vacation, and I enjoyed it so much I never wanted to come home. One day, I decided to give up my job and try farming. I moved to California and got a job in Napa Valley on a vineyard picking grapes. I learned a lot about the wine business, and after a few years, I bought my own vineyard. I love growing my own produce, like fruit and vegetables, and not buying everything in a store. My wife Cindy keeps a few chickens, too, and we often have fresh eggs for breakfast. Working in agriculture has its problems - last year our production was down because there wasn't much rain. But this year is a very good year, and the crop is a lot better. I don't make as much money as in New York, but we're very happy. Now we don't need vacations - except maybe after harvest time--and I always love coming home.
