RELATIONAL ANALYSIS PAPER (100 points) The Purpose The purpose of this assignment is to help you understand relationships why we form relationships, how such Ch.8. Using the information in your text along with examples where relevant, answer the following question: 1. Describe a relationship that you will analyze. The relationship can be romantic, job related, professional friendship, or family relationship. It can be intimate or non-intimate, current or past relationship. Your description should provide background information sufficient to understand the type and context of the relationship (e.g. the person, how you met, the type and length of the relationship, etc.). Discuss one specific idea from the text that helps you understand the type of relationship you are analyzing. 20 points 2. Explain why you formed the relationship. Use any two most relevant factors from How we Choose Relational Partners (pp. 183-185) that influenced your choice of relational partner or that attracted you to the relationship. Be sure to define or explain the selected factors and how each factor influenced you to get involved in the relationship. Support your answers with specific examples. 20 points 3. What is the definition of self-disclosure from your text (p. 187)? Explain the three requirements of self- disclosure in the definition.
