Hello class, To start off the main difference between a database management system and a spreadsheet is the way they store data. A database stores data is tables which is very good for when you have a large amount of data. While a spreadsheet stores data in cells and is good for a lower volume of data. In large businesses with a lot of customers, using a spreadsheet to store data can lead to problems like having redundant information when customers change their address or contact information. My experience with data has really been limited to what I've done as a student. As an accounting major I have experience with both database management systems like QuickBooks as well as spreadsheets like Excel and Google Sheets. Database and spreadsheets are both used to store and manage the data that you are keeping. They vary on how they store and control the data. A spreadsheet stores data regards in cells, with various cells addressed in a course of action of lines and segments, while a database routinely stores data regards in tables. Each table has a name and in any event one segments and sections. A line in a table is known as a record. Spreadsheets are used to separate data and sort things, and they are used for numbers, summaries, keeping stock, and quantifiable data. Database have more of a planning limit and control over what you are storing and keeping track of. An example of an experience I've gone through is using a spreadsheet to track sales and keeping inventory of a business
