reply to this: By using graphs to budget myself weekly it is an effective way to visualize and track my expenses. First, I make a list of all my income sources that week or biweekly and expenses for the week. For myself I include my salary from work, and freelance work I do with clients, bills, groceries, transportation costs, and any other expenses. I group my expenses into categories such as food, housing, transportation, entertainment, and savings. This key part helps me physically see where the money is going weekly and sometimes allows me to minimize some expenses, Like a recent car wash subscription I had continued to pay for when I no longer lived in an area where that was available to me. I'll then Set the weekly budget which I repeat weekly once I have paid bills for the prior week and then I am able to track my expenses and keep a record of all my expenses throughout the week. I like to still hand write my budgets like you would on a spreadsheet but I also use a budgeting app which then graphs all the expenses and shows me percentages of where my money is going.
