Implementing changes in organizations requires standardized project and program management practices and engaged sponsors. Employee engagement is a crucial part of maintaining a successful business. In addition, engaged employees are encouraged to use their skills to progress professionally properly. As the project manager, I would do the following actions to engage Market Basket employees in the success of this new project.
1- Communicate - Successful change management requires effective communicationwith both your team members and key stakeholders. Communication has an important role in this process, as it is the vehicle to ensure that the transition will take place as expected and promptly for the implementation of changes. The main objective is to motivate all employees to adopt the change and build a new corporate culture according to the scenario designed.
2- Invite employees to help solve problems. Once you have alerted your employees to the change, invite their input on how best to respond to it and ask them to communicate their needs. Your employees are likely resilient, and their ideas and perspectives on how to adapt and even thrive in the face of change can be invaluable. By letting your employees share ownership and responsibility for change, they will feel more in control. More than that, including them in problem-solving makes them feel valued and critical to the company's future success.
3- Conduct an effective training program. Training is the cornerstone of change management. To bring about change effectively and learn adaptable and buildable skills, they should receive timely and appropriate training. That includes training to ensure staff will be able to utilize their new tools.
In conclusion, managing changes in an organization is a complex process. However, communicating, engaging the employees, preparing, and supporting the individuals to adopt changes could drive organizational success.
