It is important to unleash the power and potential of people and organisations by means of effective leadership and management for the greater good.Identify an existing organisation in an industry of your choice. The organisation can be either a profit or non profit seeking organisation. If it is necessary, you may use a fictitious name for the organisation however, do note that whatever inform ation you use for your project is for assessment purposes only and will not be shared with third parties. 5. Empowering leadership refers to a process of sharing power and allocating more autonomy and responsibility to followers through a specific set of leader behaviours. Consequently, this leads to psychologically empowered employees who believe that their work is important, they have the ability to successfully perform tasks, they are free to complete and initiate tasks as they see fit and their personal behaviour at work contributes to important outcomes. Thus, leaders can achieve this state of mind in their employees by ensuring that work is meaningful, fostering participation in decision making, expressing confidence in employees and providing autonomy from bureaucratic constraints.

With this statement in mind and using your chosen organisation - assess the organisations stance on empowering leadership. Your answer should include the strategies of empowering leadership the organisation uses and how they can improve on this. (40)
