Organization Overview
Prince Georges Community College (PGCC) is the number one choice of Prince Georges
County residents for an undergraduate education and the leading institution in training and
preparing employees for the countys workforce. Among Prince Georges County high school
graduates who go on to college, 50 percent choose to attend Prince Georges Community
College. Since 1958, the college has provided students, the county, and region with high quality
and affordable education, cutting-edge workforce and development training and the opportunity
to achieve their dreams and aspirations. Prince Georges Community College serves a diverse
population of more than 40,000 students who represent 103 countries throughout the world. The
college offers more than 200 academic and workforce development and continuing education
programs of study, and transfer and scholarship opportunities to four-year colleges and
universities. Students can earn associate degrees, certificates, letters of recognition, and
licensures.
The Science Technology Engineering and Math Division (STEM) is one of the four academic
divisions at PGCC. The divisions are separated by topic to best serve students. PGCCs staff of
educators includes 250 full-time faculty and approximately 500 adjunct faculty. All full-time
faculty need to be evaluated on a regular basis. The STEM division would like to automate the
full-time faculty evaluation process and would like to have an easy way to record and track
adjunct evaluations. They believe improved, automated system would help standardize and
control of the faculty submissions.
The system should be efficient, attractive, informative, mobile friendly and incorporate
multimedia. Faculty submit forms that outline how they have completed their job responsibilities
and then also need to submit evidence of how they have met these responsibilities. It must offer
secure exchange of information because the supervisors give faculty feedback on their
submissions. It must also be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All
should be able to be accessed from one well-designed technology solution. It should include but
not be limited to: official forms, means of submitting forms, means of submitting evidence,
means of receiving feedback, evaluation schedule tracking, etc. A detailed users guide will need
to be developed so that the application can be updated and maintained each semester by the user.
The site must also incorporate but not be limited to the following:
Division description and contact information
Automated forms
Automated means of submission (documents, PDFs, voice, photos, videos, links,
presentations, etc.)
