Research Essay Project 

This research essay project should be brief in length (plus one title page and one bibliography page), and you  must use at least five secondary academic sources (N.B.: You may employ our course readings if relevant to your topic). The format in your bibliography should employ one consistent citation style (either MLA or APA style). 

The essay will be marked based on your critical reading and analysis of the material, writing ability (including your ability to interact critically with your sources), and your understanding of the relevant vocabulary and key concepts. You should not simply regurgitate material from the readings, but rather you should interact with your sources, and evaluate your sources.

You may employ the 'first person' voice in your paper.

Your paper should be on one of the following topics: A) Explain how stratification works and its effects in a particular culture; OR B) What are the origins of globalization, and how has it changed over time?; OR C) If you have another topic in mind to discuss, you should consult the instructor by week 10 of the course.
