Instructions

1. In this assignment, you will begin the process of writing your research paper, which will consist of three (3) submissions. This week, you will submit the research proposal. Next week, you will submit the rough draft. Lastly, you will submit the final research paper in Week 4.
   • Week 2: Research Proposal
   • Week 3: Rough Draft
   • Week 4: Final Research Paper
2. Write a research proposal based on one of the following topics:
   • Social Media is positively or negatively affecting the way we communicate.
   • Cellphones should or should not be allowed in the classroom.
   • Shopping online is better or worse than shopping at a local store.
   • The government should or should not provide healthcare for all citizens.
   • Smoking in public should be legalized or banned.
   • Violent video games impact or do not impact teenagers' attitudes toward violence.

Remember, the topic that you choose will be used for the proposal, the rough draft, and the final research paper.

3. The proposal should include the following elements:
   • Cover Page
   • Second Page
     • Paragraph
       • The paragraph must state the topic of your research paper.
       • It should explain why you have chosen to research this topic.
       • It should describe the main issues or themes that you will discuss in the research paper.
       • The paragraph should include a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.
4. The proposal should follow the APA format guidelines.
