[Resource based model vs Market based model]

I'm learning about market based model and resource based model. I know the differences of the 2 models, the thing I don't get is that are these models a category? Like the Porter's 5 forces model and the Porter's Value chain Analysis they are models as well right? Can I then categorise Porter's 5 forces model as market based strategy and Porter's value chain analysis as the resources based model? If yes, please also write down some examples to explain the difference between the two alterative model
