"At Rexdale Women's Centre, I've noticed that many immigrant and refugee women are struggling with trauma and don't always get the mental health support they need. One way to create positive change is by using Appreciative Inquiry to talk with staff about what's working well and how we can build on that. Asking simple questions like, "What helps you connect with clients?" can lead to good ideas. My SMART goal is to train 10 staff members in trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing by December 2025. This will help us offer better support that respects each woman's background and experience. Appreciative Inquiry focuses on strengths and helps staff feel more involved (Watkins et al., 2011). Research also shows that culturally sensitive support leads to better mental health outcomes in diverse communities (Hook et al., 2016). This kind of training will make a real difference in how we serve the women at RWC
