What is your favorite social media app and why? lana Ostapets posted Nov 2, 2022 8:15 PM Subscribe Nowadays, it is hardly possible to imagine our daily routine without social media applications. The reason is that each social media app has a purpose behind its operations whether it is news, entertainment, or socialization. It is worth noting that the majority of social media apps are quite universal in purpose due to the competitive business environment imposed by the new digital reality. Hence, Instagram is one of my favorite social media apps due to the extensive functionality available to its users. Firstly, Instagram provides its users with a wide range of formats, including pictures, videos, stories, and reels. From the user's perspective, a lack of limitations results in boosted creativity and self-expression. By contrast, TikTok, as the main Instagram competitor in terms of App Store rankings, provides its users with video format only. Secondly, Instagram offers a diversity of content, meaning that as a user it is extremely comfortable to have your news, aesthetic inspiration, and entertaining videos all in one app. Besides, Instagram was essentially known for being a great tool to connect with peers or people who share the same interests. In comparison, such social media apps as Twitter and Pinterest are rather centered around one feature - news and aesthetics, accordingly. It follows from above that Instagram also has a powerful search engine which implies that users may find a relevant piece of content through hashtags, location, audio, and accounts. Moreover, the Instagram search results tend to be organized according to your preferences, which are defined by previous interactions and online activity within the app. This makes the user experience quick and smooth, as well as navigates you across a variety of pages.
