Correlation and regression are both tools that public administrators use to determine different things about the relationship between the data that they are trying to process. Correlation is going to be used to measure the association between two interval level variables helping to show information on teh strength and relationship of the variables. Whereas when we look at regression that is going to use to see the estimates between the size and effect of the two variables. By using both of these variables when it comes time to consider projects or different research we could be analyzing it lets us have a mroe accurate understanding of the relationship between the data. By having this detailed understanding it lets us consider other options when it comes to looking at the relationship or helps us focus on what we need to change to improve upon the relationships. We can see it an example of this when we look at things like when Flint Michigan started having their water crisis we saw complaints due to the quality of it and then started seeing people get incredible sick with no other causes or possible correlations. So when they started tracing back the common causes it all went back to the changes to their water filtration which we saw due to the changes there was a mass increase in the general area around Flint get sick.
