Our local humane society is on the verge of closing its doors, due to a lack of funds, even though they help so many animals survive the insurmountable. The local homeless man works odd jobs to survive-cleaning yards, taking out trash for the elderly lady on First street, all for a bottle of water or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because that is all she can give.
