Question 1: Identify an organization that you are familiar with. Did the organization do a good job in internal training and development for its employees? To Begin, Before my current job, I previously worked for a luxury cruising industry. This Organization although it included many perks/benefits they have a terrible internal Training and development program for employees, it very much lacks support, structure, and overall information for proper onboarding. Something that I did take notice of, in this organization was that the lack of leadership from senior-level employees played a big part in why the Onboardings were so unsuccessful for new hire employees joining the team. This organization did not have any training programs set in place aside from hands-on learning and the shadowing of a higher-level employee that is a part of your team.

Question 2: Consider the organization you identified above. How did the organization respond to the COVID-19 pandemic? What had changed with the HRD function? Do you believe the changes adequately addressed the situation the organization was facing? Explain.

Furthermore, As we all know the Covid-19 pandemic was a drastic change for the entire world to intake, the cruising Industry in specific did undergo a very difficult situation in which they had to stop all operations for almost over a year, this in turn led to the HR team to begin layoffs and furloughing of almost 85% of employees. I believe in this situation as the organization was not receiving any income the only responsible decision was to do what had to be done and once we had more knowledge/control of this pandemic to resume operations.
