I worked within a preschool/daycare facility and have had several children in different age groups. We have the staff to cover each room; however, if a teacher calls out for sickness or an emergency comes up, we do not have the coverage for it because the owner refuses to hire additional help and relies on the staff she has to be there at all time, which allows the program to be short and out of ratio at times. The problem is understaffed ongoing and overworked.
