As already noted, Janis Card Accounting paid $1 million to settle the allegations. Clifton Gunderson maintains that it compiled very basic financial information to help Samuel Card after 2005. If the city's allegations are true, it shows that Clifton Gunderson did not place much emphasis on guarding against conflicts of interest.
