Question:
Sara ran a furniture outlet, Sara's Soft Furnishings Ltd (SSF) specialising in sofas and chairs. On September 1st, 2015, Sara's Soft Furnishings Ltdcontracted to sell the following to Laura:
- A one-of-a-kind reclining leather chair for £2000;
- A Chesterfield-style leatherette sofa to be supplied from SSF's general stock. At the time of contracting, there were ten such items in SSF's warehouse, but eight of the sofas have now been sold. Neither of the two which remain have any identifying features to link either to Laura;
- A sofa-bed to be supplied from SSF's general stock. At the time of contracting, there were twelve such items in SSF's warehouse, but eleven have since been sold to other customers;
- An ebony coffee table for £1500, sold on sale or return;
- A chaise-longue for £300, which Laura agreed to purchase provided that Sara had the item professionally cleaned (Laura having noticed a light stain on the item whilst browsing in SSF);
Unfortunately, two weeks after entering the above contracts with Laura, Sara's Soft Furnishings Ltd went into liquidation. Advise the liquidator of Sara's Soft Furnishings Ltd who has just discovered all of the above goods in the warehouse of Sara's Soft Furnishings Ltd and wishes to discover what legal claim Laura (who has yet to pay any money under the respective contracts) may have in respect of the goods.
