Scenario

Data is everywhere and the lines between public and private information is becoming more blurred than ever. OSINT is the practice of collecting data from public sources to be used in an intelligence context. You will be using OSINT to find out what publicly available information exists about you and analyzing how it might be used against you by an attacker.

The Task

Research OSINT and how its used by attackers to find out information about a target. Then, use some of those same techniques to find information about you, and only you, on the internet. Take notes on what you find. In your paper, explain what you found. Analyze the findings and tell me how you would use this to your advantage if you were an attacker. Include pictures, links, data types or anything else you can find out about yourself that is publicly available to anyone. Then tell me what you might fix and how you would do it. Tip: Dont forget to log out of all social media and other accounts prior to performing your searches.

DO NOT

• Try to access or hack any account or system this is ILLEGAL
• Attempt to Social Engineer any person
• Use anyone elses account to access the private information of another person
• Use your accounts to get information on yourself as this defeats the purpose of the exercise
