Horns of a Dilemma

You have just been named to the central office administrative position that you have always dreamed about in a city school district composed of forty-one schools. Additionally, the district is located in your home town. You are obviously excited to hold this position for two reasons: The salary is phenomenal compared to your current salary as a teacher. It will greatly assist you in advancing your administrative career. However, two months after you accepted the position, to your amazement, their values and views are totally inconsistent with your values and the manner in which you feel people should be treated in the organization. You confide in a trusted colleague, who tells you to "keep your mouth shut. Do your job and you will be fine!
