SDP Project Step 2 - Key Assumptions and Initial Input / Processing / Output Modeling
Identify the assumptions you've made previously (often without realizing you made any), and start to take these apart. What do they imply about how much data the program needs to take as input, and do what with it? And to what degree of accuracy? Develop your first cut into in flowchart form or initial draft. Simple RAPTOR or pseudocode prototypes can spell these out, check both your math, and your design assumptions.
This "assumptions analysis" will also help you discover more functional requirements!
Key Tasks: What key assumptions have been made? What more is known about input, processing and output? What's the "ops concept" look like from the user's perspective? Be sure to Collaborate with one or both of your ADs and discuss this step of your project. Ask them for help, ideas, and their suggested strategy.
