Question:
Section 1: please locate one tool that might be beneficial to implement in a class. Please explain the uses of the tool and how it would enhance the educational arena. Please will provide a presentation on a technology that you think would be beneficial if implemented in a K-12 classroom. The assessment should be based on four criteria: is it engaging, exciting, educating, and entertaining. Please also consider the ease with which it can be used and implemented in the future classroom. The presentation should be creative, and engaging, and include a mix of images, text, video, and/or audio. Please make sure to attend to copyright issues during the presentation when using videos or images. It is courage to think beyond Power Point to try different presentation formats including Sway, Canva, Adobe Spark, Google Slides, Prezi, or others. The presentation should be the original work.
Section 2: Many teachers today are expected to keep their grades in electronic gradebooks in the form of a spreadsheet. One tool for creating spreadsheets is Microsoft Excel. Pretend that you have your own class and complete the following activity to create the own gradebook. ***This must be an original created Excel spreadsheet and not a downloaded template***
The spreadsheet should include:
- 10 student names (Last, First).
- Please must indicate at least 5 assignments-clearly labeled including date given and point value.
- Also must provide detailed instructions to the administrator on how your grades are calculated in your class, so that he/she may speak intelligently to a parent in your absence.
- Choose only one subject in which to produce grades.
- Please also must use system-generated formulas for calculations.
- You must decide if you are using a percentage-based course or a point-based course (a percentage-based course means you will have different pages for however you decide to divide your 100% total up; for example, an English teacher might decide on the following percentage break up:
- Homework 20%
- Projects 25%
- Tests 25%
- Participation 10%
- Papers 20%
Remember that you will need grades under each heading and then will add up the points earned in for each subgroup.
Homework was averaged at 95% X by .20
(percent) = 19 points towards 100 total
This would be done for each subgroup and then the points would be added to give you the students' final grade.
- Please format the cells (decimal places, border and shading, lines, and so forth).
- Please assign each student a final grade (percentage and letter)
Below are formulas you can copy and paste into your spreadsheet so that your final grade will automatically calculate A, B, C.... Again, you are only doing one subject with 10 students and 5 assignments.
=IF(G7>90,"A",IF(G7>80,"B",IF(G7>70,"C",IF(G7>60,"D","F"))))=IF(G11>89.99,"A",IF(G11>79.99,"B",IF(G11>69.99,"C",IF(G11>59.99,"D",IF(G11>42.99,"PC",IF(G11>=0.1,"F"))))))
