Select a construct from the literature (contained in this course and/or elsewhere) which you believe influences leaders the most. The construct must be applicable to the individual—e.g., locus of control, communication apprehension, passive aggressiveness, conflict avoidance, etc.—the list is endless. Design an empirical study that could support causality between the construct you identified and a leader’s behavior. You may introduce a catalyst variable, such as an organizational threat or other external factor, which “triggers” that construct.
