Select a real or hypothetical project. For this project, select an information package, item, piece or set of equipment, or service that would be needed to perform a specific task or series of tasks and that could potentially be sourced internally or externally. Be clear about what task or series of tasks will be supported by this procurement.

Describe the make-or-buy analysis process, using this example. Assume that the information package, item, piece or set of equipment, or service will be procured from outside the organization. Prepare a table listing all of the steps for procurement, identifying a realistic start date and completion date for each activity, a responsible party, the inputs needed for the activity, and the output from the activity.

Prepare a separate table showing the project task or series of tasks that the resources procured will support. Show the start date of each of these project tasks in the project table. Now calculate and show the required start date of the procurement activities that will be required to ensure that the resource being procured will be available on the start date of the supported project tasks.

Include these two tables in the body of a composition that contains an introduction, a body that discusses and explains the analysis and approach to the tables and what the reader should gain from them, a conclusion, and a list of references that lists at least three references, each of which is cited in the paper.
