1. Cover sheet – Include the project title, student’s name, and course information

2. Introduction

The proposal should include a statement of the research question, problem and hypothesis.

The proposal also needs to identify the independent variables, dependent variables, and control variables, and define the terms if necessary.

3. Background/Review of the Literature about this research topic

Review at least 5 research papers related to this research topic and discuss what has already been done in this area.

Explain the issue you are examining and why it is significant.

(Make sure to cite these papers in APA format at end of the proposal).

4. Method and Design

A description of how you would like to collect data and test the questions you are examining.

You may need to answer and explain following questions:

Describe the general method you choose for your study, to test your hypothesis. Who would you test and why?

Describe the characteristics of the participant you would test for the project.

Are there any participants you would exclude? Why, why not?

What is the participant in the experiment going to do?

Design: What would the stimuli look like and why?

Describe what kinds of manipulations/variations you would make or test for to test your hypothesis.

Describe your research procedure. Describing the instruments needed for the study.

5. Present the results

How will you analyze the results (statistical analysis)?

How and what the resultant data you will present?

What kind of results would confirm your hypothesis?

What kind of results would disconfirm your hypothesis?

6. Significance and Conclusion

Discuss, in general, how your proposed research would lead to a significant improvement over the original studies, and how it would benefit the field. Indicate the basic assumptions, delimitations, and limitations

7. References - Include all references in APA style.
