Select two specific topics from Level 1 courses (ncluding MGMT-6092) that you have
learned well and believe you can apply to the live client project?
Part B - How will you apply them to the live client project? (There may be gaps in your knowledge
and skills that you think would help to broaden your learning from Level 1.)Hi I am trying to fix an issue of my client. They have a soybean distribution plant.
Here is what they say:
Although this is much better than it was 2 years ago, shipping lines are still able to change the vessel schedules without any notice, or they run out of empty containers leaving us to scramble and re-plan to keep the plants running as efficiently as possible. This causes a lot of problems with our processing schedule as we will have the product ready to package, and then find out the vessel changed or containers are not available. And as you saw in your tour, we dont have any warehouse space to store the product while we wait for containers to become available or for the vessel dates to come around. So sometimes this causes our production to come to a complete halt until we figure out somewhere for the product to be moved to so we can move-on to the next product. This also affects our relationship with our growers who have product stored on farm. We may have made arrangements for them to bring in product, and then we have to cancel at the last minute. Its frustrating for us and them.
For this issue, I have proposed to enhance the shipping reliability and warehouse management.
so now i need if you can check any of the following chapters have concepts that can be used in this project, 1. Operations and productivity. 2. Strategy 3. Forecasting 4. Product Design 5. Process Design 5s. Sustainability
